LEFLORE — The bad news was the Leflore High School basketball teams lost their Class B District Tournament title games Saturday night to McCurtain at the Leflore Gym.
But the good news is there's still playoff basketball ahead for both the Lady Savages and Savages.
The McCurtain Lady Bulldogs beat the Lady Savages 58-40 in the girls' title game Saturday night, then the ’Dogs downed the Savages 66-58 in the boys' championship contest.
The Lady Savages and Savages still will advance to this week's Class B Regional Tournament as district runners-up. They will face the Carney teams at 1:30 p.m. (girls) and 3 p.m. (boys) on Thursday afternoon in Stroud. They both must win three games in three days to advance to next week's Class B Area Tournament in Cleveland. Any more losses by either team will end its season.
