It took eight innings, but the Poteau Lady Pirates bounced back from Monday's rough pair of losses to Muskogee and Broken Arrow.
Ashlee Bandy's RBI single to left field proved to be the game-winning hit as Poteau got past the Red Oak Lady Eagles 8-7 in eight innings. That capped a 2-for-4 game for the Lady Pirate heroine.
Arkoma 5, Cameron 2: In Arkoma, the Lady Mustangs avenged last week's loss to the Lady Yellowjackets, and got their first win of the season — and handed Cameron its first loss of the spring.
Arkoma jumped out to a 3-0 lead after an inning and never lost the advantage.
Wister 6, Panama 5: In Wister, the Lady Wildcats bounced back from Monday's tough home loss to Spiro by knocking off the Lady Razorbacks.
Down 2-0 in the opening inning, the Lady ‘Cats scored three runs in the first and second innings for a 6-2 lead after two innings.
Heavener 6, Spiro 5; Heavener 19, Talihina 2: In Heavener, the Lady Wolves (4-1) got past two LeFlore County rivals in Tuesday's three-way.
In the win over Spiro, Heavener, down 2-0 in the first inning, got five runs in its half of the opening inning for a 5-2 lead.
In Heavener's win over Talihina, the Lady Wolves had little problem in beating the Lady Golden Tigers. Nothing more was reported on the Talihina-Heavener game, nor on the third game of Tuesday's three-way between Spiro and Talihina by press time.
Whitesboro 8, Panola 2; Buffalo Valley 8, Whitesboro 3: In Whitesboro, in the win over Panola, the Lady Bulldogs jumped out to a 5-0 lead after an inning and never looked back.
In the loss to Buffalo Valley, down 3-0 after three innings, the Lady Buffaloes scored four runs in the fourth inning, then four more runs in the seventh inning to snatch the win away.
Howe 15, Gans 9: In Gans, down 4-2 after an inning, the Lady Lions (1-0) roared back with a five-run second inning for a 7-4 lead. It was an advantage they would not relinquish.
Quinton 4, Leflore 0; Stigler 12, Leflore 4: In Quinton, in the loss to the host Lady Savages, the game was scoreless until Quinton scored in the fourth inning.
Leflore's Lady Savages had only one hit, a single by Lindsay Mote, in the battle of Lady Savages.
In the loss to Stigler, Alicia Taylor's two-RBI double put Leflore ahead 2-0 in the opening inning. But from there, it was all Lady Panthers.
Taylor had all four runs batted in as she had a two-RBI double later in the game.
