James Hardy Windham, 73, of Temple, Texas, died Tuesday, March 13, in Temple.
Hardy was born on July 15, 1936, in Muskogee to Hardy Orban and Mildred Ruth Windham. He graduated from Muskogee High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Oklahoma. After becoming a CPA, he joined the accounting firm of Ernst and Young in Houston, then spent many years as vice president and chief financial officer of Houston Corp., a private investment firm.
Hardy was a beloved husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Doss (McGuyer) Windham of Temple; a daughter, Anne McLeod and husband Scott McLeod; one son, Regan Windham; daughter-in-law Sharon Windham; four grandchildren, Caleigh and Braden McLeod and Sophia and Ella Windham, all of Houston. He is also survived by his sister, Carol Windham Smith and her husband, Riley, of Poteau, and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 16, at North Belton Cemetery. Minister Joe Baisden will conduct final rites. Memorial donations may be made to Temple Civic Theater, 2413 S. 13th St., Temple, Texas 76504.
