William Charles “Charlie” Phillips, 83, of Howe died Saturday, March 17, 2012, in Poteau. Charlie was born Feb. 27, 1929, in Poteau to Hansel J. and Marie (Hale) Phillips. Charlie was a self-employed businessman. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Hansel Phillips Jr.; and great-granddaughter, Kristen Lovell.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda Lee, of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and David Hall of Howe, Karen and Tom Vandagriff of Howe; son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Linda Phillips of Norman; brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Melissa Phillips of Richmond, Va.; six grandchildren, Heather Johnson, Niels Johnson of Fort Smith, Ark., Nigel Johnson of Lawton, Chris Lovell of Poteau, Cory Phillips, LeeAnn Phillips of Norman; 10 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews; other relatives and loved ones.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 21, at Monroe Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Lovell officiating. Burial will be in Monroe Cemetery, Monroe. Pallbearers will be Bob Phillips, David Hall, Tom Vandagriff, Niels Johnson, Nigel Johnson and Cory Phillips.
The family will be at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. tonight to visit with relatives and friends.
