As far as the winner's bracket is concerned for the 2012 LeFlore County Slow-Pitch Softball Tournament, the seeding has held true to form.
The Poteau Lady Pirates, the top seed, and the Heavener Lady Wolves, the second seed, both advanced to tonight's winner's-bracket final with wins Tuesday night at the Poteau Area Recreational Complex.
The Lady Pirates edged the Panama Lady Razorbacks 5-4, while the Lady Wolves clawed the Pocola Lady Indians 18-4.
Poteau and Heavener will meet at 5 p.m. today at the PARC with the winner playing for the championship at 8 p.m. tonight.
Four teams were still alive in the loser's-bracket, and they were to have played among themselves on Wednesday. However, rain washed out the games, with them being rescheduled for this afternoon at the PARC.
Panama will play Wister, while Pocola will play Spiro at 3:30 p.m., with the winners meeting at 5 p.m. The winner will play the Poteau-Heavener loser in the loser's-bracket final at 6:30 p.m. tonight at the PARC for the right to get to tonight's title game.
The Lady Bulldogs and the Lady Wildcats had to win twice on Tuesday night to stay alive. Spiro won a pair of 13-3 games, the first over Arkoma and the second over Cameron — which eliminated both the Lady Mustangs and the Lady Yellowjackets.
Wister edged Howe 4-3, then did likewise to Talihina for a 10-9 win. The Lady Golden Tigers eliminated Leflore 19-1.
