The LeFlore County Bass Club had its latest tournament of the 2012 circuit Sunday at Potato Hills South on Sardis Lake.
There were 28 boats which had 54 anglers who caught a combined 58 fish with a collective weight of 153.11 pounds. The average fish caught weighed 2.64 pounds, with seven limits caught.
Besting the field of fishermen was the duo of “Big Bass” Bob Denton and Jason Roberts, who caught a total of 21.53 pounds of fish to earn $675.
Bucky McGee and Randy Martin were runners-up (14.98 pounds, $400), while Jason Wickware and Jody Adams came in third (13.89, $270).
James Williams had the big bass of the day, weighing 6.53 pounds to earn $270.
Rounding out the top 10 were Joey Chitwood and Tony Parker (13.51 pounds) were fourth, followed by Wade and Kathy Dalton (11.75), Doug Rodgers and Nick Cox (11.3), James and Tommy Williams (11.01), Daniel Decker and Terry Lee (10.77), Rodney Faulkenberry and Andy Nance (9.85) and Kevin Bell and Danette Been (8.1).
The day before, the LeFlore County Bass Club had an open tournament on Saturday at the same location. This tournament had 30 boats which had 53 fishermen who caught a total of 39 fish weighing a composite total of 120.42 pounds. The average fish caught weighed 3.09 pounds with two limits caught.
Jesse Little and Chad Johnson were the champions (17.43 pounds, $665), Jimmy Yandell and Rick Short were runners-up (14.65, $395) and Robbie Brassfield and Keith Jones came in third (10.99, $265). Tim O'Daniel had the big bass winner, a 8.61-pound lunker to pocket $265 for the catch.
The next tournament in the Club's 2012 circuit will be this Saturday at Ward's Landing on Wister Lake.
