Leola “Momalea” Nadine Butler, 87, of Spiro died Friday, June 8, 2012, at her home in Spiro. Leola was born March 27, 1925, in Hartman, Ark., to Jack and Mary E. (Harris) Shelton. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eugene Butler; and son, Jack Butler.
Leola loved fishing, dancing, antiquing, sports (especially Oklahoma Sooners and OKC Thunder). She retired after working 28 years at Dixie Cup. She loved her church. She had four special angels from First Baptist Church that she truly appreciated and loved.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Jim King of Fort Smith, Ark.; son and daughters-in-law, Rex and Monta Butler of Spiro, Jeanne Butler of Fort Smith; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Dona Lois Smith of Arkoma, Ruth Mann of Corpus Christi, Texas; special caregivers, Lou Cribbs and numerous others; other relatives and loved ones.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 12, at First Baptist Church in Spiro with Rev. Darren McKnight officiating. Burial will be in Spiro City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Doug Harper, Curtis Grady, Jeremy Harrison, Bryson Butler, Michael King and Bruce Butler. Honorary pallbearer will be Gary Ridenour.
The family will be at the First Baptist Church from 5-7 p.m. Monday to visit with relatives and friends.
