John “Sonnie” Fullen, 64, of Shady Point died Thursday, July 26, 2012, in Fort Smith. Sonnie was born July 9, 1948, in Poteau to John Hoyt and Modean (Seaborn) Fullen. He was a general contractor. Sonnie was a member of the Calhoun Baptist Church and the Poteau Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Cathy of the home; daughters, Toni Leigh Lands of Elk Grove, Calif., Gwen Marie Totten of Bend, Ore., Kaci Dawn Parker and husband Jeff of Spokane, Wash., Sunni Rhea Fullen of Denton, Texas; mother, Modean Totten of Poteau, and other mother Faye Fullen of Wister; sisters, Dian Jenson and husband Gary of McAlester, Connie Tuck and husband Steve of Paris, Texas, Tammy Kasey of LaGrande, Ore.; brothers, Joe Fullen and wife Eileen of Pittsfield, N.H., Danny Totten of Poteau; stepsons, Jeff Cooper and Chad Cooper; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and loved ones.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 28, at Calhoun Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Hughes and Rev. Larry Free officiating. Burial will be in Shady Point Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Cody Jenson, Toby Jenson, Heath Odom, Jeremy May, Wendell Giles, Brandon Totten. Honorary pallbearers will be Otis Slone, Harold Means, Donald Akers, Gordon Williams.
The family will be at Evans and Miller Funeral Home in Poteau Friday from 6-8 p.m. to visit relatives and friends.
