Rev. James Robert “Bob” Bullock, 80, of Lawton, formerly of Poteau, died Monday, Aug. 27, 2012, in Lawton.
Bob was born on Aug. 8, 1932, in Plant City, Fla., to Hal Raymond and Irene E. (Watson) Bullock. He grew up in Yukon, where he graduated from high school. He joined the U.S. Army and served his country for four years, being stationed in many locations including Korea. He returned to Oklahoma and attended Oklahoma University, receiving his bachelor’s degree in theology. He attended seminary for five years, receiving his masters degree. He served as a United Methodist Minister all across Oklahoma for more than 38 years before retiring in 2007. He moved to Lawton in 2010 to be near his family. He was a member of the St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Patricia Stout.
He is survived by his son, David Bullock and April Partridge of Lawton; his daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and William Godfrey of Lawton; his brother and sister-in-law, George and Ann Bullock of South Carolina; and three grandchildren, Michael Bullock of Lawton, Zachary Bullock of Vinita and Bryan Wilken of Lawton.
Services are planned for a later date in Poteau.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home, Lawton
There will be a special viewing and visitation for family and friends from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31, at the funeral home.
