Lavinia Jane Quigg, 95, of Poteau died Monday, Sept. 3, 2012, in Poteau. Lavinia was born Oct. 4, 1917, in Avery to O.W. and Drucella (Sample) Wilcher. She was a homemaker. Lavinia was a member of the Poteau Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Fred Murfin; second husband, Clyde Quigg; sister, Zula Province; grandsons, Steve Chandler, Mikal Morphis; great grandson, Colton Samuels; son-in-law Winford Chandler.
Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn Chandler of Poteau; special daughters, Shirley Thomas of Monroe, Judy Payne of Cushing; special granddaughters, Jeanie Hayden of Paris, Ark., Kim Burns of Shreveport, La., Jamie Williamson of Eldorado, Ark., Kecia Chandler, Mia Miller, and Natasha Samuels of Poteau, Lydia Brown of Fort Smith, Ark.; six great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Edna Mae Eason of Azle, Texas, Izetta Holland of Burleson, Texas; brother, Frank Wilcher of Houston, Texas; other relatives and loved ones.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 7, at the Poteau Church of Christ with Don Cherry officiating. Burial will be in Monroe Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Bob Marchant, Randy Lum, Dick Moore, Jack Baker, Rendall Thompson and Cecil Williams.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Patrick Lynch Library Fund.
