The Poteau Pirates football team will try to end its two-game losing skid tonight as the Pirates entertain the Muldrow Bulldogs, coached by former Poteau assistant coach Rob Johnson, at 7:30 p.m. at Costner Stadium.
The game is a must-win contest for the Pirates (4-3 overall, 1-3 in District 4A-4 play). Poteau must win out to have a chance for postseason play.
“At least, we're still in the hunt,” said Greg Werner, Poteau's first-year coach. “We've got to win all of them. So, we're in a must-win deal. The kids know that, and we [coaches] know that. We've just got to get it done. All the kids are ready and excited. We've just got to go take care of business.”
