Annie Bell (King) Ashby, 91, of Octavia died Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, in Fort Smith, Ark.
Annie was born June 1, 1921, to Albert and Sarah (Newman) King in Waldron, Ark.
She married Neal Ashby on March 20, 1949. Annie and Neal lived in several different places, from Oklahoma to Alaska to Montana.
Annie was a wonderful mother and grandmother who enjoyed gardening and fishing. She was a member of the Smithville Assembly of God.
She is survived by her sons, David Ashby of Spiro, John Ashby of Memphis, Tenn., Ben Ashby and wife, Teresa, of Wilburton, and Toby Ashby and wife, Daccari, of Panola; daughter, Susan Parker of the home; sister, Flora Scruggs of Mannford; grandchildren, Nick Ashby and wife, Aimee, of Red Oak, Peter Ashby and wife, Cindy, of Buffalo Valley, Katherine Ashby of Panola and Deyton Ashby of Panola; great-grandchildren, Allie, Raylee, Raygan, Brooklyn and Brodie and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends.
Annie was preceded in death by her husband, Neal in 2000; parents, Albert and Sarah King; grandson, Bryan Parker; five brothers, Paul, Rubin, Cebert, Marlin and Charlie King; three sisters, Stella Hasel, Etna Eacret and Effie Gordon.
Graveside service were held Monday, Nov. 12, at Octavia Cemetery with the Rev. Greg Hurd officiating.
Pallbearers were David Ashby, John Ashby, Ben Ashby, Toby Ashby, Nick Ashby, Peter Ashby and Deyton Ashby.
Jones Harkins Funeral Home, Wilburton, handled arrangements.
