WILBURTON — The Whitesboro Bulldogs basketball team highlighted a Saturday filled with LeFlore County teams coming home with hardware.
The Bulldogs beat the Howe Lions 63-44 to win the Eastern Oklahoma State College Classic blue bracket title Saturday night at EOSC's Claud C. Dunlap Fieldhouse.
The Bulldogs made it to the title game with a 68-59 win over Cave Springs on Friday.
The Howe Lady Lions, like their Lion counterparts, came in second as they lost 37-27 to the Gans Lady Grizzlies in the blue bracket championship game.
A second county team came in as runnerup. The Arkoma Lady Mustangs lost 58-36 to the Red Oak Lady Eagles in the title game of the gold bracket. The Lady Eagles reached the title game with a 79-18 win over Clayton on Friday, while the Lady Mustangs edged the Pittsburg Lady Panthers 56-53 also on Friday.
The Bokoshe Lady Tigers won the third-place game of the blue bracket as they handled the McCurtain Lady Bulldogs 50-28 on Saturday.
The Arkoma Mustangs lost their third-place game in the blue bracket, falling 67-45 to Cave Springs on Saturday.
The Leflore Savages also placed fourth as they lost 51-45 to the Buffalo Valley Buffaloes in the the third-place game of the gold bracket.
The Whitesboro Lady Bulldogs won the consolation championship game of the gold bracket, nipping the Cave Springs Lady Hornets 39-38.
Two other LeFlore County teams, the Bokoshe Tigers and the Leflore Lady Savages, both forfeited their respective seventh-place games due to lack of numbers.
