Christopher Edward Grindstaff, 25, of Poteau died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013, in Baton Rouge, La.
Chris was born Feb. 5, 1987, in Oklahoma City to Bruce and Diana (Johnson) Grindstaff. Chris was a fire alarm technician with J.E. Systems in Pocola. He was an Eagle Scout, Troop 30 in Poteau. Chris lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed every experience along the way. He loved his family and friends and he found a friend in everyone he met. Chris was preceded in death by his grandfather, Kenneth Johnson, and uncle, Todd Grindstaff.
Survivors include his parents, Bruce and Diana Grindstaff of Poteau; grandparents, Dorothy Johnson Page of Poteau, Harry and Barbara Grindstaff of Mustang; aunts and uncles, Robin and John Ross, Mike and Debbie Grindstaff, Paula Grindstaff, Bill and Donna Lofthouse; cousins, Mike and Jeff Grindstaff, Joshua, Kenneth, and Douglas Lofthouse, Abby and Lynnley Grindstaff, Jade, Coby and Eli Lofthouse; other relatives and loved ones.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, with the Rev. Jim Cook officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
