Launa Belle Turner of Poteau died Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, in Fort Smith, Ark. She was born Jan. 19, 1934, in Bokoshe to Jacob Louis and Ola Belle (Peerson) Cloud. She was a homemaker, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and devoted Jehovah’s Witness.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Doyle Gene Turner; two sons, Danny Gene Turner and Timothy Wesley Turner; two brothers; a sister; and a great-grandson.
Launa is survived by a son, Shell Vondell Turner and wife Mary “Beth” of Heavener; four daughters, Deborah Jean Goodwin and husband Daniel of Lewisville, Texas, Lana Launa Turner of Oklahoma City, Dalena Gayle Weaver and husband Patrick of Weatherford, Texas, and Yolanda Gavonne Schwendiman and husband Rex of Dallas; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; a sister, Mildred Young of Poteau; a brother, Charles “Red” Cloud of Poteau; brother-in-law, Denny Earl Turner of Abilene, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and loved ones.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at Grace Manor Memorial Chapel, Poteau, with Bro. Pete Philippi officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home.
