Two LeFlore County basketball teams claimed hardware at the 2013 Rock Island Conference Shootout last weekend.
The Whitesboro Lady Bulldogs claimed third place after downing the Kinta Lady Eagles 44-30 Saturday afternoon in Wilburton. The Lady Bulldogs lost their championship semifinal 68-24 to the Red Oak Lady Eagles Friday night in Buffalo Valley.
The Leflore Savages were the other local team to be a trophy team as they won the consolation championship contest 51-35 over the Clayton Bulldogs on Saturday afternoon in Wilburton. They reached the consolation finals with a 58-47 victory over the Buffalo Valley Buffaloes on Friday.
However, it was a rough end to the three-day event for the Whitesboro Bulldogs. They ended up losing their final two games, falling 47-39 to the Kinta Eagles in Friday night's semifinals in Kinta, then losing 73-59 to the Quinton Savages in the third-place game Saturday afternoon in Wilburton.
