Arkoma suffers more than loss at Keota

The Arkoma Mustangs took a hard hit on their opening night game against the Keota Lions at Keota in a 60-14 loss on Friday night. In the opening defensive series, junior fullback Tyler Dailey broke his thumb. That injury would set off a spark of bad luck for the Mustangs (0-1) that will leave them effected for the rest of the season.Mark Weatherton, Arkoma's coach, said that senior Tyler Ruston went in at fullback to replace the injured Daily. In the second quarter of the game, Ruston was also injured. Weatherton said Ruston appears to have broken his leg and is likely out for the season. Weatherson said at that point several players were tested in the full back position."We were playing guys at fullback who had never played in that position before," Weatherton said.
