CASC president announces planned 2016 retirement

Carl Albert State College President Garry M. Ivey announced to the CASC Board of Regents that he plans to retire at the end of June, 2016.

The announcement came at Monday's regents meeting.

“This has been much more than a job to me for the past 37 years at Carl Albert,” Ivey said. “It has been great to be a part of Carl Albert because of the people. We are all here for the students. I worked in several positions prior to becoming president, and had much support in each area I served. I let my family know of my plans, then the regents and my Executive Cabinet. My plans were then shared with campus, and as I told them, I will give 100 percent to the job of president until my last hour of the job in June 2016.”

Regents Chair Ron Lawson said the school will prepare to search for another president as soon as possible.
