Early voting in Runoff State Primary Election slated to begin next week

Oklahoma’s state Runoff Primary Election is less than two weeks away and early voters can cast their ballot as early as Friday, August 24.According to the LeFlore County Election Board, local voters will go to the polls to vote for three races and a special election. The runoff between democratic candidates Bruce Curnutt and Rob Seale in the race for LeFlore County Sheriff along with both republican and democratic races in the seat for U.S. Representative District 2. The voters of Pocola will vote in a special election to determine who will fill the vacant position of Trustee Ward 4.Important dates:Last time to request an absentee ballot, Wednesday, Aug. 22, by 5 P.M.; Early voting at County Election Board, Friday, Aug. 24, 8 A.M. - 6 P.M., Saturday, Aug. 25, 8 A.M. - 1 P.M. and Monday, Aug. 27, 8 A.M. - 6 P.M. Polls open at 7 a.m. on Aug. 28 and will close at 7 p.m.
