Hunter safety courses are now available online

It’s time to be thinking about getting your child’s hunter safety certification (and yours, too, if you haven’t gotten it yet). Persons who are 10 years or older and an Oklahoma resident can complete a course online and print out their own hunter education card. Once completed, you are fully certified, and you do not have to complete any additional class work. This option is great for last-minute certification, or adults that want to hunt out of state but cannot attend a full eight-hour class. Check out the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation'’s website to register and get started. If you want to go the old-fashioned route and attend classes, the schedule of dates, places and times can be found online at the website, too.• • •Irma Morris gave me a photo of herself in a canoe. She has worked at Wister Schools in the cafeteria for many years. Irma was at a KBA camp in Talihina last spring, and participated in this water adventure. She wanted me to get this action shot in the paper so she could prove to Donnie Dewitt she really did float the river in a canoe.Have a great week!• • •E-mail questions or comments to
