Okla. House member apologizes to colleagues

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — A Democratic House member who shouted at a Republican colleague following a late-night floor session has apologized on the House floor.Heavener Democrat James Lockhart delivered a brief but emotional apology Wednesday from the well at the front of the House. He then received a standing ovation.Following a floor session on Tuesday that lasted until midnight, Lockhart could be heard shouting at Faxon Republican Rep. Don Armes, who was presiding over the chamber. Several Democrats were frustrated Armes wouldn't recognize members of their party for various motions.It was the second time this week that legislative decorum has been an issue. Monday, the Senate went into a rarely used executive session to discuss what some members said was a lack of decorum.This week is a deadline week.
