Oklahoma now has lowest average gas price in the nation

(AP) — The average price of gasoline in Oklahoma is now the lowest in the nation.

AAA Oklahoma said Wednesday that a gallon of self-serve regular gas in the state is an average of just more than $1.57 per gallon. Missouri has the second lowest average price at $1.60 per gallon. The national average is $1.87 per gallon.

Also, the citywide average in Tulsa of $1.43 per gallon is the lowest average price among the nation's major metropolitan areas. Drivers in Oklahoma City are paying an average of $1.56 per gallon while the cost is just more than $1.58 per gallon in Lawton.

The most expensive gas is in California where the average price is $2.74 per gallon.
