Poteau looks to redeem itself Friday night against Muldrow

For the first time this season, the Poteau Pirates football team will have to overcome the toughest adversity it's faced this season — a loss the week before.The Pirates (6-1 overall, 3-1 in District 4A-4) will look to redeem themselves after last week's home loss to Tulsa Cascia Hall as they will travel to meet the Muldrow Bulldogs (2-5, 2-2) at 7:30 p.m. Friday.“In adversity, you find out a lot about yourself,” Poteau coach Greg Werner said. “We're going to find out a lot about what we're made of [Friday night]. We had a setback last week, but by no means did it squelch our goals we set out for this season. We've just got to bow up and come back.”• • •The Poteau Pirates football team will have a meet-and-greet event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at the Bob Lee Kidd Civic Center.Besides getting acquainted with this year's Pirate players, there will be an auction for items such as merchandise, gift certificates and baked goods.Hamburger/cheeseburger baskets will be available for $5, which includes chips and a drink.• • •Poteau's Week 10 road game against Tulsa Rogers has been put back onto its originally scheduled date of 7:30 p.m. Nov. 7. Also, the site will not be Milton Stadium, where the Pirates played Tulsa Webster on Sept. 19. The game will take place at S.E.
