School enrollment dates

Enrollment and first day of school dates have been set across the county. Students will start returning to school in the next couple weeks starting with Poteau Public Schools on Aug. 7. Upper elementary orientations starts today [Aug. 5] at 3:30 p.m., and high school orientations starting on the Aug. 6, incoming freshmen from 10 a.m. to noon and sophomores from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.Leflore Public Schools enrollment is ongoing and will continue through Friday, with kindergarten through eighth grade from 9 a.m. to noon, juniors and seniors 1-6 p.m. in the library. Pre-K students enroll at the Head Start building. Also today and tomorrow, [Aug. 5 and 6,] Talihina high school and junior high new students enroll from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.Spiro Public Schools start Aug. 7 and Shady Point on Aug. 11.LeFlore Public Schools, Bokoshe Public Schools and Wister Schools start Aug. 13.Panama Public Schools, Talihina Schools and Monroe School start Aug.14.Heavener Public Schools start Aug. 18 and Whitesboro starts Aug. 19.Arkoma Public Schools start on Aug. 20.Pocola Public Schools and Howe Schools start Aug. 21.Cameron Schools start Aug. 22 and Hodgen Schools start Aug. 24.LeFlore County adult education and GED enrollment is Aug. 6 and 7, 8:30 a.m. at the Poteau Adult Learning Center at 301 Clayton.
