Poteau High School students who will participate in extra-curricular activities this upcoming school year will have their drug testing take place next month inside the senior hall of the high school.Drug testing will take place from 8 a.m. to noon Aug. 14.Cost is $10 cash per student.• • •Registration is open for the 2013 LeFlore County Express Fall Soccer League. Registration can be done through the Internet at registration cost per child is $40.Payment method details are available at the website.• • •Anyone who is interested in coaching a Bandit Football League team or a cheerleading team this fall needs to call Billy Bond at (918) 647-1939.The first mandatory coaches meeting will take place at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Poteau City Hall.• • •Arkoma Public Schools physicals for all athletes will take place beginning at 9 a.m. Friday at the high school.• • •The Heavener High School football tailgate party will begin around 6 p.m. Aug. 12 at Harvey Stadium.There will be many spirit items for sale at various booths.There will be hamburgers and hotdogs as well as other concessions.There will be a water slide and a bounce house for children (tickets required).The HHS cheerleaders and football players will be introduced followed by a mini scrimmage around 8:30 p.m.• • •There will be a 7-3 coed softball tournament all day Aug. 17 at Heavener Blues Park.The entry fee is $125 per team.Women may hit any ball.
