Whitesboro Boys Coach Dies in Accident

The town of Whitesboro is mourning the loss of their High School Boys Basketball Coach today following a tragic car accident shortly before noon today in Southern LeFlore County. According to a fatality accident report issued by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Ronald "Wayne" Tucker, 30, was driving a 2004 Lincoln Aviator westbound on State Highway 63 approximately 4.5 miles East of Muse just before Big Cedar when for unknown reasons the vehicle went left of center while making a curve. The report states Tucker then swerved left and right before overcorrecting into a broadslide. The vehicle then departed the roadway on the right and rolled two and a half times before hitting a tree. Tucker was ejected from the passenger door of the vehicle approximately six feet. Trooper Tim Baker stated in the report that Tucker died at the scene from massive injuries. Tucker was reportedly from the Talihina area before he moved to Edmond. When the High School Boys Basketball position became available he accepted it and moved back to the area. This was his first year as the Whitesboro Coach. Several area coaches have told PDN today that Tucker was very laid back and a good coach. Their hearts go out to the staff and students at Whitesboro.
