FLYING STUDENTS

Poteau sisters Lilly, Josey and Whitley Tramel, from left, get ready to go aboard Poteau Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Don Sjoberg’s Cessna 172 plane Monday night at Robert S. Kerr Airport. Sjoberg is hoping this fall to add an aeronautical curriculum for students to learn how to become a pilot.

Poteau Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Don Sjoberg is an avid pilot, having his own Cessna 172, thanks to the family of Marvin Ulrich. He has been giving free flights to many people.

If Sjoberg’s desire becomes reality, the Poteau School District will begin next fall by adding aeronautical aviation to the curriculum.
